Being me
What’s that you say?
“Courage today?”
I’ll stick to my insolent self-assuredness,
infuriating, unfriendly and full of fight…
What’s that you say?
“Courage today?”
I’ll stick to my insolent self-assuredness,
infuriating, unfriendly and full of fight…
Think, thank, thoughts coming unglued, falling unfastened, the feeling ensued with words tumbling from the pages of my mind, eyes blurred, a flash of white, then blind my world unkempt, disorderly, in disarray… what meaning shall i take from today?
Full of spirit, footloose and fancy free,
we wandered within,
filled glasses, toasted fine friends
and I found my eyes fixed on Sunmi…
is it so easy to leave love
to rush off without a word
to run away spurred by anger
for what occurred
is it not absurd…
Remember that battered piano room at the Student Union at ASU. The notes always a welcome lesson to the tune of the day. The moments seemed to linger like in no other place, in a darkened comfort from the desert sun they hung – musky in the air. Full and soft.
Chocolate
bare moon
death storm
summer delicate
sweet tongue
chanting
lazy
moment
Christmas
is in the simple joys of living
It’s in reading a story to the kids at bedtime
and having your neighbors over for dinner
It’s in a good bottle of wine
and a mug of hot cider after two hours of shoveling
and eggnog in the morning while still in your robe
It’s in black and white movies
and old Frank Sinatra records
and waltzing in the living room when you’re sure nobody’s around…
Innocence
Capture the winds of innocence
shades on the moon
glowing soft in the distance…
